Reeves Butchers Ltd is committed to achieving Net Zero greenhouse emissions by 2050.
Baseline emissions are a record of the greenhouse gases that have been produced in the past and were produced prior to the introduction of any strategies to reduce emissions. Baseline emissions are the reference point against which emissions reduction can be measured.
Baseline Year: 2024 – first year reporting
| Additional Details relating to the Baseline Emissions calculations. | |
Please note the baseline emissions for 2024 were retrospectively calculated in 2025 as part of our 2045 net zero ambition. As part of our future learning, we intend to report on wider scope 3 emissions. We have engaged with our suppliers in measuring and reducing emissions.
| Baseline year emissions: 570 | |
| EMISSIONS | TOTAL (tCO2e) |
| Scope 1 | 150 |
| Scope 2 | 100 |
Scope 3 (Included Sources) | 320 Purchase of goods Employee commuting Waste disposal. |
| Total Emissions | 570 |
| Reporting year: | 2026 |
| Emissions | TOTAL (tCO2e) |
| Scope 1 | 145 |
| Scope 2 | 97 |
| Scope 3 (included sources) | 320 Purchase of goods Employee commuting Waste disposal. |

This is our organisations first carbon footprint.
To continue our progress to achieving Net Zero, we have adopted the following carbon reduction targets.
We project that carbon emissions will decrease to 399 tCO2e by 2028. This is a reduction of 30%.
Completed Carbon Reduction Initiatives
Total emissions have reduced by 18 tCO₂e (1.4%) compared with the baseline.
The following environmental management measures and projects have been completed or implemented since the 2024baseline.
Lightfoot telematics are installed across the vehicle fleet to reduce fuel consumption and improve driver’s behavior. This assists with reducing fuel consumption, idling and harsh braking as well as improving route optimization to minimise milage.
Further replacement of fluorescent lighting with LED lighting and motion sensor lighting in appropriate areas
Investment in energy-efficient refrigeration equipment to improve insulation and controls. Scheduled preventative maintenance ensures refrigeration units are operating at peak efficiency. We have also installed automatic door closers and strip curtains throughout the factory to reduce energy loss.
Continued efforts with waste management to ensure segregation and recycling of cardboard, plastics and other waste
Increased use of digital documentation where possible to reduce unnecessary paper consumption
Continued engagement with suppliers to try to reduce Scope 3 emissions.
This Carbon Reduction Plan has been completed in accordance with PPN 06/21 and associated guidance and reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans.
Emissions have been reported and recorded in accordance with the published reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans and the GHG Reporting Protocol corporate standard[1] and uses the appropriate Government emission conversion factors for greenhouse gas company reporting[2].
Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions have been reported in accordance with SECR requirements, and the required subset of Scope 3 emissions have been reported in accordance with the published reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans and the Corporate Value Chain (Scope 3) Standard[3].
This Carbon Reduction Plan has been reviewed and signed off by the board of directors (or equivalent management body).
